Cruise ships leaving Port Everglades

Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale near Miami is one of the major cruise Ports in the USA. On 6 November 2010, we saw the Oasis of the Sea sailing off, the biggest cruise ship in the world. On the video you also see the Crown Princess from Princess Cruises.

Denny’s, large choice at modest prices, Fort Lauderdale

Denny’s a restaurant chain in the USA, specialising in breakfast but it doesn’t stop there. We visited their restaurant in Fort Lauderdale before we started our cruise. They offer a large choice of dishes at budget prices. The restaurant is open 24 hours. Can you imagine that in Europe?

Denny’s is een restaurantketen in de Verenigde Staten die zich specialiseert in ontbijt, maar ook voor andere maaltijden. Vlak voor de start van onze cruise, hebben we één van hun restaurants bezocht in Fort Lauderdale. Ze bieden een groot keuzemenu tegen zeer lage prijzen. Het restaurant is 24 uur per dag open. Zie je dit al mogelijk in Europa?

Venice of America, Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is also called Venice of America. The city is known for the many canals, luxury villas and yachts. Alongside the beach you find shops, bars and restaurants. The homeless people in the street are at the other extreme of the society compared to the millionaires living in this city. Lodging is only possible at high prices against low quality. If you want good quality you will have search deep in your pocket. The harbour, Port Everglades, is the home to many cruise ships.

Fort Lauderdale wordt ook het Venetië van Amerika genoemd. De stad is beroemd omwille van zijn vele kanalen, luxe villas en yachts. Langs het strand vind je winkels, bars en restaurants. De landlopers in het straatbeeld staan aan het andere uiterste van de maatschappij in vergelijking met de extreme rijken in deze stad. Een hotelkamer is enkel beschikbaar tegen hoge prijzen voor lage kwaliteit. Als je goede kwaliteit wilt, dien je diep in je beurs te tasten. De haven, Port Everglades, is de aanlegplaats voor vele Cruise Schepen.

Start of Celebrity Cruise on 7 November

Tomorrow, we will start our cruise with Celebrity Cruises going to Grand Cayman, Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, and to end in Los Angeles. We will have few opportunities to update our blog, and videos will only be published late November. We hope to keep you up to date on regular time intervals. Below you can already see a few pictures of cruise schips in Port Everglades and Port Canaveral.

Morgen starten we onze cruise met Celebrity Cruises naar Grand Cayman, Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, en om te eindigen in Los Angeles. We zullen niet veel mogelijkheden hebben onze blog up te daten, videos zullen pas veel later worden gepubliceerd, eind november.
