It keeps on snowing in Zoetermeer

It snowed the whole night and a large part of the day. We should not forget that we are still in the fall. The official winter still has to start. It seems like we are living in Austria, Switzerland or Canada. But no, this is our garden in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands. A country where it normally doesn't snow. We received about 15 cm in one day.

The first snow on December 1, Munich

It is only December 1 and the snow is already there. In Munich it kept on snowing the whole day and this was the result. Cars completely covered in snow. Luckily my flight back home to Amsterdam was not cancelled. Grab your warmest cloths, if this is a taste of what we will get during the winter, you will need them.

Snow in Les Baux!

In Provence, early March usually heralds the beginning of the outdoor cafe season. Instead, we got snow. A Marseille-based photographer who goes by MarcoVdz took this great shot in Les Baux, using a Nikon D5000 and Photoshop 7. You can see more of Marco's dramatic Provence photography, with and without snow, on his Flickr page and on his website. [Disclaimer: Marco took this photo in January...

The Cocktail Drinkers' Guide to Gardening: January

Born in Hampshire, England, James Clay is an artist and sculptor who settled down (somewhat) in St. Remy close to 20 years ago. Over time, he lovingly created a gorgeous one-hectare garden filled with fruit, palm, pine and olive trees (he has 60 olive trees, all of them transplanted), plus many varieities of bamboo, flowering plants and shrubs. There are few things James loves as much as

Snow in Zoetermeer - Tommie

It's snowing in Zoetermeer and Tommie our dog really enjoys it. In some places the snow is more than 30 cm deep. To my knowledge this is the first time we have so much snow.
