Patong nude girls on the beach

Nude beaches in Thailand? Do they really exist? If one believes Lonely Planet, then nude sunbathing on the beaches pf Thailand is illegal; but so would be driving around without a helmet, gambling, or prostitution.
And with the bars full of Thai girls just a few meters away, it does not wonder when tourists coming to Phuket and Patong Beach argue rightly that there is much fuss about little. It is the 21st century after all, so showing some skin is not such a big deal (all the better if the girl looks the part).

In the end, let's not forget, Thailand is about 'sanook', 'sabai sabai' -- and making money. Breaking their own laws to get to the tourist Euros is fine, so bending them to habe a nice topless beach holiday is surely within limits. Eye Candy: Thailand entry for the 2008 Miss Tourism Queen Intl

For some visual stimulation, I am posting here some pictures of the Thailand entrant of the 2008 Miss Tourism Queen International, held in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China's Henan Province on April 10, 2008. Pichamon Keawthong was under the top 20 finalists and won the Best in Asia Queen competition for 2008. A total of 115 contestants from around the world competed for the crown.

Since 1949, there have been more than 80 countries occasionally holding this competition for their Miss Tourism National Queen. With each country's tourism ambassadors gathering together, Miss Tourism Queen International aims at enhancing the tourism development, the friendship among different countries, and international culture exchange.

Another stupid Farang gets shafted by a Thai bar girl

How many times have we all heard stories how stupid Farang get ripped off by a clever Thai bargirl and dropping him like shit as soon as he is sucked dry?
Clearly the Farang in this self-published website is bitter, but most of what happened to him seems to be self induced through pure naiveté.
Hard to tell what the timeline is but it appears this guy fell in love, wanted to buy land and build a house with a Thai girl from Buriram and live happily ever after in the space of weeks -- just the usual story.

Fellow Blogger Jamie Monk becomes 'Phuket Blog' authority

Just a short while ago, Google recognized Jamie's Phuket as the authority website on 'Phuket blogs', all together with a special display of Sitelinks. Jamie is of course well known in the local blogosphere and has written for his blog for well over a years time, so he has spent a good amount of time and sweat on his blog(s).

And still, as I mused in a previous post not so long ago (Are Thai girls really the most fascinating thing about Thailand?!), blogging obviously is not all it ought to be!
Even with being the top listed site about Phuket blogs, Jamie has according to Top Of Blogs most of the time less than double the page views than this blog right in front of you, and this after he spent such a long time to develop his content.

The weakness in -- lets call it cultural? -- blogging: if I would write day-in and day-out about Thai girls, best without their clothes on, I might have hundreds of readers easily. With a more broad approach, obviously the number of readers is minuscule, compared to less discerning websites where I do know the visitor numbers reliably.
This means in a world where the glass if half empty, that nobody really cares that much about Thai culture or seemingly fascinating details about the expat lifestyle here. In a world, where the glass is half full, good luck that Phuket and Pattaya cater directly to the needs of the mainstream, so there will always be an endless stream of new material coming...

The original post comes from Asian Sweetheart, who runs a blog full of pictures of the most sexy Thai girls imaginable; as there are new posts several times a day (!) it is well worth to subscribe to this one -- or at least visit often!

Somebody asked me who do I think is the most beautiful girl in Thailand. I think that question is impossible to answer. Everybody has different specs of course so my opinion would be different that many other people. And everybody likes more than one type of person so picking only one Thai girl as the most beautiful is too difficult.

I think that I could never pick only one but maybe the top ten. I was thinking about it and there are so many beautiful Thai girls that it's hard to narrow it to only ten. But for sure one of them would be Nun Woranuch.I like Nun because she not only looks pretty, sweet and sometimes sexy in her photos but also when you see her acting or see her live on a talk show. Many other models and actresses look great in photos but they look awkward when they move or when they talk they are not pretty or sound kind of rough. Nun has it all. And she is not sleazy at all. She is definitely in the top ten and maybe quite close to the top.

Are Thai girls really the most fascinating thing about Thailand?!

I am quite astonished, to tell the truth, which articles are finding the most interest by the readers of this Thailand life blog after writing on it for the last three months.
Absolutely on the top of the list are articles about Thai girls and Farangs getting ripped off by them -- does that mean that Thai girls and the nightlife of Thailand are really the most fascinating things about this country...

The rather fascinating peculiarities of Thai Isaan food like Bandicoot Rats seem to draw the most readers from those who are already browsing through my entries. I personally think them the best of my entries, together with commentary on events like the lese majeste charges against Jonathan Head from the BBC.

That I am not totally off the mark is at least proven by the fact, that they are to date the two most-read and visited pages in my blog.

Still understandably, a few more seem even interested in something like:

In many cases it seems weird that my blog was even found as I do not recall having written all that extensively about such (and where, I have put a link, no need to wade through all that 'tiring time wasting' political and Thai lifestyle stuff, go directly to the source :-)

Comments of readers for or against would be more than welcome and I might just decide to follow advice given.

But rather, if you are writing a blog more targeted to the above search phrases, I am quite willing to have you post your link to it right here -- saves me the hassle to go out of my way to report on things others might have much more (and better) to say about...

And here we go again, 'round and 'round the Thai government really cannot make up its mind, if it wants to make Thailand squeaky-clean (and so boring no tourist of younger years will ever come here) or if it will just keep the image of being a heaven full of Thai bar girls and adult entertainment and take the money that flows from it.
A difficult maze of interests; and that it all comes under the disguise to protect youngsters from drugs and sleaze just does not cut it, while the ruling elite in Bangkok does everything possible to keep the largest part of the Isaan country rural, poor and indebted -- the biggest source for the countless bar girls in Patong.

From the Phuket Gazette:

"Bar, discotheque and pub owners will be given a 90-day grace period before police begin to strictly enforce a 2 am closing time at all nightlife venues on the island, authorities have announced.
Starting at 2 am on February 27, police presence was unexpectedly heavy on Soi Bangla and along nearby roads that make up the heart of Phuket’s nightlife entertainment industry. Their presence sparked fears of a crackdown on bars and pubs, many of which have in recent months been staying open well past the mandatory closing time of 2 am that applies to most venues in the area.
Fearing possible arrests and fines, owners were quick to close shop. On February 28 and 29, also starting at 2 am, Kathu District Chief Khantee Silapa accompanied Kathu Police Superintendent Col Grissak Songmoonnak and other high-ranking officers from Kathu Police on more inspection tours in Patong.
Again, bar owners were quick to close and there were no reports of arrests, but the show of force by authorities sent a clear signal to venue owners that failure to observe the mandatory closing time of 2 am will no longer be accepted.
Nightlife venue owners will be given 90 days, from February 28, before police will begin arresting bar owners who fail to comply, Col Grissak told the Gazette a few days later.
The new initiative follows an order by newly-installed Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobumrung.
Noting that pubs and nightclubs were used by youths as a place to experiment with and trade in narcotics, he said better compliance with existing closing times would be a key part of his campaign against drug abuse.
Minister Chalerm threatened to punish police officers, district chiefs and other officials who failed to strictly enforce anti-drug measures at entertainment venues, Phuket Governor Niran Kalyanamit said at the monthly meeting of provincial government officers, which he chaired at Phuket Provincial Hall on the morning of February 27.
Current closing times were put in place in early 2004 under the controversial “Social Order” campaign launched by Pol Capt Purachai Piemsomboon, Interior Minister during the first Thaksin administration.
The order by K. Purachai, who initially pushed for a closing time of midnight to keep minors out of nightclubs, resulted in non-violent protests by hundreds of nightlife workers in Patong, where the previous closing time had been 4 am closing.
In the end, special “nightlife zones” were established where venues with a special license could remain open until 2 am, while those outside the zone were required to close at 1 am.
However, the strict enforcement of closing times slackened considerably while the country was under post-coup martial law and remained slack after the National Legislative Assembly was appointed as the interim government.
While there were reports of some unlicensed beer bars being closed down in Kathu after Minister Chalerm’s order, Kathu District Chief Khantee denied that either officials or police had been distributing yellow warning cards to venues found in violation, as reported by one Thai language newspaper.
“Now we are forcing all bars to send their guests home at 2 am, but we are not charging them. We also found some venues employing girls under 18 and closed them down,” Chief Khantee told the Gazette. The 2 am closing time would cost local businesses money, but both the laws and goals of the anti-drug campaign need to be respected, he said.
“I believe that if nightlife venues close up at 2 am, tourists will begin their night out on the town earlier. This is also a good opportunity to let tourists know about the anti-drug campaign,” he said.
Sompetch Moosophon, President of the Patong Entertainment Business Association (PEBA), said he plans to meet Chief Khantee soon and push for Patong to be exempted from the 2 am closing time, which he sees as incongruous with the needs of most visiting tourists.
“In my opinion, the 2 am closing time is not appropriate because many tourists who visit Patong like to stay out drinking and partying all night long… This is the special appeal of Soi Bangla as far as tourists are concerned,” he said. A review of crime statistics for the area proves that this has not resulted in an excess of fighting or other violent crime, he maintained.
The PEBA has already begun distributing an English-language questionnaire to visiting tourists to see how they feel about enforcement of the 2 am closing time. The results will be presented to both Chief Khantee and Gov Niran, he said.
“We would like to report the exact situation in Patong to the government and have them recognize our special situation by allowing us to stay open later than nightlife venues in other provinces,” he said.
A closing time of 3 am, extended to 4 am or 5 am during the high season, would be appropriate, he said.
K. Sompetch, Managing Director of Dclub Disco on Soi Crocodile, said PEBA cooperated with a request by former Governor Udomsak Usawarangkura three or four years ago seeking to limit the number of nightlife venues in Patong and restrict them from areas nearby schools, temples and residential areas."

A prodigy of Thai nude photography and a collector of fascinating and incredibly sexy Thai girls he is not... Peter Klashorst.
His collection of nude Thai girls is unluckily less than average, the blog outdated and the "artistic" tries of Peter Klashorst seem unluckily rather amateurish. But then again, everybody needs a hobby, so why not this...?

Dutch painter Peter Klashorst used to travel (and live) in Africa and make nude paintings of all the girls he met there. He became intimate with quite a few also ;-)

10 Commandments of Thai Love

The wonderfully caring Ministry of Culture has launched a '10 Commandments of Love' brochure in another attempt to prevent teenagers getting too carried away on Valentine's Day and getting up to hanky-panky in short-time hotels.
According to the golden-oldies in charge there, all proper Thai girls are virgins before the day of their marriage. And any girl who dares get herself involved with any disgusting behavior beforehand is labeled 'Un-Thai' and declared a threat to both national security and Thai Culture.

Unfortunately however, the ministry’s granny and grandad officials have failed to read any surveys which have uncovered that the average age for the first bout of pre-marital practice in Bangkok is a tender 16 and a half.
Here below is the lovely list (in brackets, however, is what the average male Thai teenager is going to think!):

1. Love with patience, so as not to become a premature parent.
   (“Geez, the last thing I wanna do is get her pregnant, as for the patience bit, I always try to make it last 10 minutes”)
2. Truly love only one person.
   “One! They must be completely of their trosh! We having a saying in Thailand which goes ‘One is never enough”)
3. Love with mercy, trying not to hurt the one you love.

Shrimp World shut down: no more Thai beach nudes

Patrick Gouvain (Shrimp) was the photographer behind Shrimp's World, a site dedicated to fine art nudes from Thailand. Shrimp was one of the first people from Thailand to take nudes with beautiful Thai girls on beaches and his yearly calendars were highly sought after by fans and conoisseurs of nude Thai girls alike.

As he was a publicly known person his nudes were discussed very controversially in the Kingdom and it took a long time for him to get the proper recognition for his nude art in Thailand. As the example picture shows, he avoided frontal nudity, overly pornographic poses and his calendars actually could be hung openly on the wall.

His photo shoots were always very elaborate happenings, very artistic and exact -- completely unlike the quick hit-and-run porn shots one sees so often on the internet.

Still, the current political climate in Thailand does not distinguish between art and commerce; Shrimp himself is still around and works now behind a team of designers for "brand strategies and design solutions".

However, one of his friends, George Mann, who's Asian nudes have been featured on the same site, shows some nice introduction into photography for other pro photographers. Some of Shrimp's erotic movies from Thailand can still be downloaded on the net.

'Good Thai Girls' and 'Free Sex' in Thailand

I really do not always agree with Stickman's observations on Thai girls or on how to find a Thai girlfriend, but with a little bit of common sense it should be really easy for everybody to find love and happiness here.
However, even if you are not carousing with bar girls, but with the so-called 'good girls of Thailand', is there something like 'free sex' like in the West?

From a previous Stickman Bangkok Weekly:

"I believe that in Thai society there is a pay off in most interactions between people. One person does something for another person - and they then expect a favour in return. You buy lunch for someone today, and expect they will do the same or similar for you soon. An underling helps the big guy with his every request and if the underling gets in trouble, the big guy will be there to help him out.
The idea that there is a pay off of some sort in all interactions helps to explain some concepts in Thailand.
The Thais often refer to "free sex" - a woman having sex for a man without any payment, be it direct or indirect - as a Western concept and some Thais, especially older Thais, simply cannot get their head around the idea of a woman sleeping with a man without getting something in return. (It is this belief that is one of the contributing factors that allows prostitution to flourish in Thailand)." ...
"After a period of time in a relationship a Thai woman might ask her Western boyfriend for a gold chain, or perhaps some money to send home to her parents. She is of the belief that she had been providing sex - without charge - and now it is his time to "pay". (That he picks up the tab for everything is considered irrelevant and not part of the pay off.) When he becomes aghast at this outrageous request for money and refuses, she will likely feel that she has been cheated. She had been giving for so long, and when she asked for something in return, he declined. The relationship will almost certainly go tits up."

Patong Beach without Thai food

The Thai government is in the process of forbidding hot food to be sold on Patong Beach, according to the Phuket Gazette that is.
Sadly, the Thai government has completely lost the plot, when it comes to advertising their country to tourists; to this day, it seems an impossible hurdle to understand, why we foreigners actually want to sit on the beach in the full sun all day long. Definitely not to have the hassle to walk around in search for some basic food, if somebody could just hand it to you right where you sit...

From the Phuket Gazette:

Patong Municipality has warned Patong beach vendors against cooking and selling food on the beach, saying violators will be arrested. “If we find any vendors selling food on the beach we will arrest them. Only drinks can be sold on the beach and all vendors doing so must pay a tax and trash-collection fee to the municipality,” said Chairat Sukkaban, Deputy Mayor of Patong Municipality.

Compare it to this idea a vendor had on Serendipity Beach in Cambodia... wow! Me, I would like to have one of those juicy prawns right now!However, the rest of the article following this shot (My Tiny World) is not really correct, maybe the author has never left the beach? THE "largest and wildest" full-moon party, promised the yellow flier taped to a phone booth on Khaosan Road in Bangkok. Another installment of Thailand's girls-gone-wild bacchanal on the island of Ko Phangan? Or its bigger brother, Ko Samui? Or maybe it was the newcomer Koh Phi Phi, a remote island that is luring younger partygoers in the post-tsunami boom. And, yes, every month there's a full-moon party, reminiscent of Ko Phangan's infamous drug-addled raves.
Yet, it's a far cry from, say, Phuket, where the sex trade rules the streets. Sihanoukville's white, sandy beaches may run riot with local girls, but they are selling only handmade bracelets and fresh fruit. Likewise, guesthouses here cater to backpackers, and they are significantly cheaper than those in Thailand.

Thai girlfriend experience

Why are so many tourists flock to places like Phuket or Pattaya? Is it the sun, is it the beach, is it -- wow, I heard adult single males utter this -- truly #only# for the Thai food?!
Truth be told, Thai food is delicious, but would you spend a cool EUR 1,000 on a flight ticket, to eat the same Fried Rice you can have in the Thai restaurant at your corner back home?
The real reason, why many, many tourists come here, are the Thai girls.

This does not necessarily mean, they are sex tourists, or perverts of some sort. This might not even mean that they actually take a girl home to their hotel room.
Many men I have met are quite happy to have a nice evening in a bar, a few drinks, a few rounds of pool, and simply somebody nice to chat with. Just hearing a few kind words where life's reality might be a little bit harsher has healed many a scarred soul.

This is it, what many tourists here describe as the 'Thai girlfriend experience': somebody who will take the time to take care, say a few sweet words, all but unheard of things in many families in the west. Not always, there is a need for nudity in there.
Obviously 'kindness' goes both ways, so it is true that money will change hands; it is a service after all and not every utterance is an oath of love.
But maybe both sides to the game are happy with what they get: the tourists fly back to their work, wifes and life, just a little bit happier, while the Thai girls staying here have their own lives to life, and families to feed.

As long as everybody knows that this is the game, there might be not many better experiences than this one...
