Cocoa Beach, Florida, a surfers paradise

Driving from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale we decided not to go for the fastest route but to drive along the Florida coast line. We stopped at Cocoa Beach to enjoy a walk on the beach. This is a surfers paradise but we drove a little bit further to were the large sandy beach was deserted. Nature in its purest form.

Voor onze rit van Orlando naar Fort Lauderdale hebben beslist niet te gaan voor de snelste weg, maar onze reis verder te zetten langs de kustlijn van Florida. We hielden halt in Cocoa Beach om te genieten van een wandeling op het strand. Dit is een surfersparadijs maar wij reden iets verder tot op een totaal verlaten strand. Dit is natuur in zijn puurste vorm.

Shamu and Thrills at SeaWorld, Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando has the best of the world of entertainment. The park has the best shows, super exhibitions of sea animals, and thrill rides. The show of Shamu (killer whale), "Believe" is always amazing. We saw the only 3,5 weeks old cub swimming together with its mom. "Blue Horizons" with Dolphins, parrots, and acrobats is a top professional show. We should also not forget A'Lure, a pure acrobatic and dance show. The animal displays are just super: the shark encounter, the mantas, the sea lions, dolphins... Next to all this you find two top coasters in the park. Kraken, a floorless fast steel coaster which has many inversions and Manta, the new flying coaster, which brings you in a up side down looping head first lying down. Not for people scared of heights and speed. This park is certainly worth a visit, don't miss out on it.

SeaWorld Orlando biedt u het beste amusement aan. Het park heeft top shows, super presentaties van zeedieren en top achtbanen. De "Shamu" (orka) show is altijd verbazingwekkend. Deze keer zagen we de 3,5 week oude baby Shamu samen zwemmen met zijn moeder. "Blue Horizons" met dolfijnen, arcrobaten en vogels is zeer professioneel. We mogen echter A'Lure ook niet vergeten, deze show met acrobatie en dans is zeer goed. De dierenverblijven zijn top: de orka's, de haaien tunnel, de zeeleeuwen, de mantas, de dolfijnen... Naast dit alles vind je er ook twee top achtbanen. Kraken, een vloerloze zwevende snelle stalen achtbaan met veel inversies, alsook Manta, de nieuwe vliegende achtbaan waarbij je een omgekeerde looping maakt, al liggend, het hoofd eerst naar beneden. Niets voor mensen met schrik voor hoogtes of snelheid. Dit park is zeker een bezoekje waard, mis dit niet.

A surprise car in Florida

We booked our rental car in advance with the "Dollar" company at the airport of Miami. We selected the special deal option. We were sure to receive a better car than a mid-size but didn't know what. It ended up being a Dodge Grand Caravan. The car drives very soft and there is certainly enough room for all our luggage.

We hebben onze huurwagen geboekt bij "Dollar" op de luchthaven van Miami. We kozen voor de special deal wat betekende dat we niet wisten welke wagen we gingen krijgen, maar het ging zeker beter zijn dan een mid-size. Het werd een Dodge Grand Caravan. De wagen rijdt zeer zacht en er is zeker genoeg plaats voor onze bagage.
